Thinking
of getting a wireless broadband connection but confused between ADSL
Wi-Fi and mobile wireless broadband? Here is a small guide to let you
know about the pros and cons of these two.
An
ADSL Wi-Fi is a broadband connection under which a copper telephone
cable will be installed at your home affixed with an ADSL modem that
has the capability to transmit wireless data. With this type of
broadband connection, you will be able to access internet wirelessly
in a particular area. The installation and monthly charges of
broadband
ADSL
connection are economical and provide fast internet access. But if
more than two devises are utilizing this connection at the same time,
it can hamper its speed. Also you will have to set up a security code
to avoid unauthorized access to internet via your personal
connection.
On
the other hand, if you take a mobile wireless broadband connection,
you will get more mobility. In this type of broadband connection, you
will get a small USB stick which is a plug and play device. You will
have to plug this device into your system whenever you want internet
access. With the help of this type of connection, you can have
internet connectivity in a large area if your ISP has network
coverage in that area. But this type of broadband connection is not a
reliable one as the speed of your connection will vary with the
signal strength in different areas.
Both
of these connections have their own advantages and disadvantages. It
depends upon your individual requirements which one of them you
choose. If you require internet access upon multiple computers at
your place, the broadband ADSL Wi-Fi
will
suit you more whereas if mobility is your main concern, you should go
for the mobile wireless connection.
